World Vegetarian Day is October 1st. The North American Vegetarian Society created it in 1977 to “promote the joy, compassion and life-enhancing possibilities of vegetarianism.” World Vegetarian Day kicks off Vegetarian Awareness Month which runs through October and ends on World Vegan Day on November 1st.
